Why choose pleated blinds?

Pleated blinds are folded fabric shades that concertina into a narrow strip. Compared with standard blinds, they offer two extra things: they cover only the part of the window you need, and they fit where other shading can't — on angled, triangular or roof windows.

  • 1/

    Two-way operation

pull up from the bottom or down from the top, so you can cover just the lower half of the window.

  • 2/

    No cords or chains

safe in homes with children and pets.

  • 3/

    Compact

folds down to almost nothing and keeps the view clear.

  • 4/

    Made to the millimetre

no gaps at the sides, sits flush against the glass.

  • 5/

    Installation with or without drilling

won't damage the window, ideal for rented homes too.

Pleated blinds for however much light you want

Choose based on how much light you want in the room. We'll help you decide during the measurement visit.

    • Classic (daytime) pleated blinds

      Classic (daytime) pleated blinds

Lets light into the room while still shielding you from outside views. Ideal for living rooms, kitchens or home offices where you want light but not a wide-open window.

    • Day & night pleated blinds

      Day & night pleated blinds

Two fabrics in one: a lighter one for diffused daytime light, a darker one for privacy and calm in the evening. Switch between them depending on the mood and time of day.

    • Blackout pleated blinds

      Blackout pleated blinds

An opaque fabric that reliably darkens a bedroom or children's room. Also suits rooms used for daytime sleep or watching films.

    • Thermo pleated blinds

      Thermo pleated blinds

Fabric with a reflective layer that reflects heat outward in summer and helps keep warmth in during winter. A solution for glazed areas and conservatories.

They fit where standard blinds fail

The main strength of pleated blinds is adaptability. We make them for shapes and windows that other shading can't handle.

    • Irregular windows — triangular, trapezoidal, round and pentagonal.
    • Roof windows — with guide rails so the fabric never sags.
    • French doors and sliding (HS) portals — shading that doesn't get in the way when opening.
    • Kitchens and bathrooms — moisture-resistant fabrics that are easy to clean.
    • Conservatories and glazed areas — thermo fabrics against overheating.

Pleated blinds sewn exactly to your window

We don't sell off-the-shelf sizes. Every pleated blind is made to measure for a specific window, so it fits tightly with no gaps.

    • Free measurement — we come out and measure precisely — no calculations needed on your side.
    • Installation with or without drilling — we'll advise on what suits your window.
    • Wide choice of fabrics and colours — from sheer to blackout.
    • 1-year warranty — on all products.
    • Full service — from design through production to installation, with a single supplier.

From measuring to finished pleated blinds

We handle the whole process — you don't have to worry about a thing.

    1. We come and measure — We measure every window free of charge, to the millimetre — including irregular or roof windows.
    2. We choose together — Type of pleated blind (daytime, day & night, blackout, thermo), fabric, colour and mounting method.
    3. We make it to measure — Every blind is sewn to the exact size of your window.
    4. We install and hand it over — Fitted with or without drilling; we'll show you how to operate and care for it. Everything comes with a 1-year warranty.

Which fabrics can you choose for your pleated blinds

You can view and touch the fabrics in person at our showroom. They mainly differ in how much light they let through and how they hold up in humidity.

    • Classic (daytime) fabrics — light and easy to maintain, let diffused light through — suit living rooms, kitchens and home offices.
    • Duo fabrics (day & night) — two fabrics in a single mechanism — a lighter one for the day, a darker one for privacy in the evening.
    • Blackout fabrics — opaque, reliably darken the room and block views from outside.
    • Thermo-reflective fabrics — with a reflective layer that reflects sunlight in summer and helps retain warmth in winter.

We'll shade your windows to the exact measurement

Book a free measurement, or stop by our showroom and see the fabrics in person. The first step costs nothing.

Frequently asked questions about pleated blinds

What are pleated blinds and how do they work?

Pleated blinds are fabric window coverings that fold into a compact concertina when raised. Depending on the model, they can open from the top down, the bottom up or in both directions. This lets you cover the lower part of a window for privacy while leaving the upper part open for daylight.

Should I choose standard, blackout or day & night pleated blinds?

The right choice depends on how much daylight you want to keep. Standard pleated blinds filter and soften light according to the fabric’s opacity. Blackout fabrics provide stronger darkening, making them an option for bedrooms. Day & night systems combine two fabrics with different light-filtering properties. VESTA offers all three options and helps you choose the right one for your room.

Do blackout pleated blinds make a room completely dark?

Blackout fabric blocks light through the material itself, but light can still enter through gaps around the edges of the blind. Blackout fabric alone therefore does not guarantee a completely dark room. If room darkening is a priority, we will discuss your window construction and expectations before you order.

How much do made-to-measure pleated blinds cost?

Prices are calculated individually based on the dimensions, number of blinds, fabric, operating system, fittings and installation requirements. For an initial quote, send the width and height of each window, the number of blinds, photos and the installation location. If you do not have accurate dimensions, we can arrange a measuring visit first.

Does fitting pleated blinds require drilling into the window?

This depends on the chosen system, fittings and window construction. We use different fitting methods and select a suitable option for each order. If avoiding drilling is essential, tell us in advance so we can check whether a suitable solution is available for your windows.

Can I order pleated blinds for roof windows or unusually shaped windows?

Yes, we also consider orders for roof windows and unusually shaped windows. Available options depend on the window’s shape, dimensions and angle. Send us photos and approximate measurements, and we will establish what further details or measurements are needed.

Where can I order pleated blinds with measuring and installation?

VESTA accepts orders in Prague, Brno, Bratislava and other locations across Czechia and Slovakia. Include the property address in your enquiry so we can confirm travel, measuring and installation arrangements for your order.

How long does it take to make pleated blinds?

Lead times depend on your chosen fabric, its availability, the number of blinds and the system specification. We will confirm the production lead time when preparing your quote and arrange installation separately. If you need your blinds by a particular date, mention it in your initial enquiry.

These custom drapes are way better than I anticipated. I was a bit concerned about how they could construct motorized curtain rods for my living room window — it’s hella huge, I must admit. Two weeks after delivery — so far, so good. No issues with the remote control and great responsiveness. I’m planning to order more in the future.
